A $2 Million Launch Wasn’t Enough

Earlier this year, I spent a few days with a coach who was coming off a $2 million program launch. Impressive number, right? You might be surprised to hear what they were struggling with.

I'll get back to that in a second.

But first, tomorrow is my birthday. If you've read my book, you know that means I'm in a reflective headspace. And what am I thinking about?

That you can grind yourself to almost any outcome with hard nosed, heads down, forcing energy.

I've seen it.
Done it plenty.
And spent time with people who are experts at it.

But the outcome is rarely pretty.

You get to the top of the new hill and something still feels missing. Achieving this newest goal didn't magically eliminate the nagging sense of not being enough. Even though you sacrificed your health, relationships, and anything else that stood in the way of you getting to say that you "did X".

And for many, this means one thing...

It's only a matter of time until you set an even bigger goal, hoping it will finally quiet your fears of being found out for the "fraud" that you are.

Which brings us back to the coach with the $2 million launch.

Want to know what they were struggling with? Comparing themselves to others who were further ahead, aspiring for things they didn't have, and questioning whether they were worthy or not.

These are problems that money can't solve.

There are plenty of problems money can fix. If you don't know how you're going to pay your bills next month, then of course, more money will provide you more stability and peace of mind. I've been there.

And had my credit card decline at the grocery store with two small kids at home.

But what happens when money can no longer solve the problems you have? Continuing to chase bigger goals to fill the void will eventually implode and you'll be forced to reckon with what you've been avoiding. It can be a mix of:

Forgiving others.
Owning mistakes you've made.
And learning to love + accept yourself.

Then you'll have something that no amount of money can buy.
